Dusty lilac

Outfit: Jumper - &otherstories / Jeans - Topshop (Hayden) / Loafers - H&M / Rings - Camden

Hello everyone,

here's a new outfit for you guys, as always nice and effortless.
The weather is in its up and down mood at the moment so I like to be prepared, hence the chunky knit. This is actually the first time I finally got to wear this Jumper. I bought it around Christmas time and it was my first &otherstories item so I was very excited when I got it. The quality is amazing and the knit and cut is flawless in my eyes. Also what made me get this was the colour it's such a nice dusty lilac. It hasn't got that pastel feel to it.
Still don't understand why it took me so long to wear it, I think I was trying to save it for a special outfit so I can introduce it nicely.. Hahaa

Anyway, I decided to pair it with my ripped Haydens from Topshop. These jeans are so comfortable, but have such a nice effect on any outfit. It's just a bit different from the usual boyfriend jeans.
Also on my nails I'm wearing Essies cocktail bling. It's a really nice grey with a blue undertone and on my lips I'm wearing one of Revlons colourburst sticks in the colour '215 shameless'. It's a very intense purple, the pictures don't really give it justice!

Hope you all had a lovely Easter and I will speak to you soon,

Shay

Silver details

Outfit: Coat - Zara / Jumper - Uniqlo / Skirt - Asos / Boots - Asos / Bag - Zara / Glasses - Camden

Hello everyone,

here I am with another outfit for you guys, and yes I am actually wearing a skirt for once!
Believe it or not I do looooove skirts, I just always end up wearing jeans or trousers, I just find it more comfortable and I don't have to worry about whether everything is sitting in place or not.

I must admit that this outfit is very much colourless, but everyone has those days, no?
You can pretty much never go wrong with an all black outfit and it just gives such a dramatic vibe in a very effortless way if that makes sense..

Also can we just talk about the fact that I finally found a pair of ankle boots (without a huge heel) that I genuinely like. I had my eyes on these for ages and I think it was around Christmas time when ASOS had a 20% flash sale where I thought it's now or never. I'm soo soooo picky with ankle boots especially when it comes to flat ones, but these are just right!

Ohh and this might be a bit weird, but I have this thing where I just can't wear something with silver details on it and then have gold somewhere else - unless it actually works - so for example, if the D-ring on my Coat wasn't silver I would have either worn a different Coat or taken a different bag hahaa I don't know what it is, but I there's something about that tiny little detail that I just can't stand!

Anyway I hope you guys like this outfit and I've got more coming your way featuring my little diva cat,

Shay

Got that 40s curl

outfit: Jumper - Zara / Trousers - Forever 21 / Loafers - H&M

Hello everyone,

Back today with another outfit, I hope you all enjoyed my last post, which was my 'get to know me' tag!

Anyways back to the outfit, I kept it very minimal and easy. This is my go to outfit when I'm in a hurry and I still want to look put together. The Jumper I honestly wear to death, it's just one of those pieces that will always look effortlessly nice. And the trousers I wear to work a lot as well as they can be dressed up or down.

Also you might have noticed from the pictures that I've finally had a haircut and I have gone slightly lighter in colour, the colour has a slight grey tint. I really wanted to go that gunmetal grey, but after discussing it with my hairdresser I realised my hair was too dark to get there right away.. Hahaa Either way I really really like the outcome. I must say I did go through a slight phase of not liking it right after I got it done, but I blame it on the difference that it made. If you were interested on where I got it done and with who don't hestitate to ask I'm happy to let you guys know as he is amazing!

What do you guys think of the hair, let me know,

Shay

Make it two

outfit: Turtleneck - Zara / Mom jeans - Topshop / Coat - Zara / Leopard boots - Zara / Nude ankle boots - Topshop

Hello everyone,

I'm back again with another outfit for you guys.
For this outfit I was soo indecisive, which pair of ankle boots I should wear.
Initially the idea was to wear my Leopard boots from Zara, which I don't get to wear often enough considering how much I love them. While I was getting ready I then saw my nude ankle boots and I was just like - 'damn it, what do I do now?'
I'm sure you guys have had this situation before too, you know the dilemma of not knowing, which pair of shoes look better with the outfit..

So I decided to shoot both of them and make it into a 'Day - Night' transition, which works perfectly I think.
The Leopard boots are very comfortable and easy to wear, at the same time they make your outfit as they are a statement piece. It makes them perfect for a busy day where you want to look good, but still be able to feel your feet by the end of the day.
The nude ankle boots are extremely comfortable too, but because of the slightly higher heel I prefer to wear them on days where I don't have to run around too much or just for a nice dinner as it still works with the rest of the outfit.

This outfit just showed me once again how easy it is to change up the whole look by just changing your shoes. It really does make a difference!

I hope Monday treated you guys nicely,

Shay

Knitted cover

outfit: Knit - Zara / Jeans - Topshop (Joni) / Bag - Zara / Ankle boots - ASOS

Hello everyone,

fianlly got a new outfit for you guys! I had this one waiting to be edited for so long now and I finally got around to it. It's been a mad couple of weeks, but everything seems to fall into place again, which is good!

Enough of the small talk, let's talk outfit! Now here's the deal when it comes to cold weather it's a bit more tricky to look put together as you can't just wear a cute little crop top and a pair of jeans and go. I mean don't get me wrong some people can take the cold very well and if you're one of them then lucky you! For most of us however that is not the case. That does not mean that you can't bring out that fashionista in you with a couple more layers on..here's a few tips I make sure I do to still look nice:

1. One thing I always have to take care of with sweaters, knits and tops in general is making sure that they don't basically eat me and that they're not ridiculously long as I'm quite short. Oversized is always a good idea, but you don't want to overdo it!

2. I also like to pair my oversized huge knits with something more flattering around the bottom like I have done in this outfit! That just allows the pieces to compliment each other and your outfit will probably make more sense.

3. When you wear a huge jumper it's the perfect chance for you to layer underneath as it won't really show through. I sometimes wear 4 layers depending on how thin my knit is, I know that sounds insane, but a girl has got to pull emergency strings sometimes! Your layers underneath don't have to be crazy, crop tops are very practical in these situations as they're not baggy or anything. Now if you cannot take the cold at all uniqlo sells some heat tech bodies, which are amazing and you can layer on top of those as well!

4. Finally just remember that winter knits can be just as flattering as your summer outfits as long as your work with what you've got!

Btw this is probably one of my most loved jumpers ever. It's so so warm, but really chic at the same time. It's also just very easy to wear as you don't have to wear anything else with it in terms of jewellery and stuff it just speaks for itself.

How do you guys keep warm? Let me know,

Shay

My wishbone

Hey everyone,

here I am again with probably one of my favourite outfits this cold season.
If you follow me on Instagram you might have already seen this outfit a few weeks back, when I bought my camera I decided to shoot this outfit properly as I love this combo!

outfit: Coat - Missguided / Polo - Zara / Jeans - Topshop / Shoes - H&M / Necklace - Birthday present

The camel with the grey make this outfit very chic, I find this colour combination timeless.
You can never go wrong with camel and dark grey, as these are colours that have always been appreciated in the Fashion Industry especially around this time of the year.

By the way this is also my long searched for camel coat, Anything long around winter I looove, but as I'm quite short it's sometimes quite difficult to find the right length in coats and I have to make sure that it doesn't basically eat me.. that's why this coat makes me soo happy! Hahaa
You might have seen it on many other bloggers too as I've seen it around quite a lot.

Also my wishbone is probably my favourite piece of jewellery at the moment! Even though Rose gold is probably my number 1 jewellery colour I find it quite hard to find anything in Rose gold that I genuinely like, but since I got this from a friend for my birthday it has easily become my most worn jewel. What do guys prefer? Rose gold, Silver or Gold?

Ohh and excuse my delay, I know that in my last post I wanted to post a new outfit yesterday, but my day turned out to be completely different then what I had in mind and so I ended up having to sort out loads of things. By the time I finished everything I felt like it was too late to post so I left it for today instead.

I hope you guys like this outfit as much as I do.
Speak soon,

Shay
